Cookie Policy

Cookies and storage on Kogni Player Cards.

We keep this short, because there is not much: Kogni Player Cards uses only strictly necessary, first-party cookies to keep you signed in and protect the service, plus browser storage for your drafts and sign-in flow. No advertising cookies, no cross-site trackers.

1. What Cookies Are

Cookies are small pieces of data a website stores in your browser. Similar browser technologies include local storage and session storage. They let a site keep you signed in, remember progress, and protect against abuse. This policy covers all of them.

2. Cookies We Set

We set only first-party cookies through our own domain, and only these:

CookieCategoryPurposeDuration
kogni_fa_client Strictly necessary, first-party Anonymous client identifier that keeps the service working for you and helps us prevent fraud and abuse. Persistent, until you clear it or it expires
kogni_fa_refresh_token Strictly necessary, first-party Keeps you signed in. It is only set when you authenticate, and only on the authentication endpoints of our API. Persistent, until you sign out or the session expires

These cookies are set when you use the service and are scoped to fa.kogni.pro. They are not shared with advertising networks and are not used to build profiles about you across other websites.

3. Browser Storage

Kogni Player Cards also stores a few things directly in your browser:

  • Local storage — card drafts: while you build a card in the studio, your draft and creation progress are autosaved on your device so you don't lose work. This stays on your device and is not part of your account data.
  • Session storage — sign-in flow: temporary security state for Google, Discord, and email verification sign-ins is kept for the duration of the browser session and removed when it completes or when you close the tab.
  • Session storage — presence identifier: a random per-session identifier used with the Duo presence heartbeat so we can show availability without relying on trackers.

4. What We Don't Use

  • No advertising or retargeting cookies;
  • No third-party analytics or marketing trackers, pixels, or beacons;
  • No cookies used to build cross-site profiles or sell data.

Public card pages, avatars, and stream thumbnails may load images from the CDNs of the platforms that host them (for example Riot media, Discord, Google, Twitch, YouTube, Kick, and TikTok). Like any image request on the web, those providers see your IP address. The live feed itself is served from our own origin.

5. Legal Basis (LGPD and GDPR)

The cookies and storage described here are strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for. Under the LGPD, we rely on the execution of contract (art. 7, V) and on fraud prevention and security of the holder (art. 7, VIII combined with art. 10). Under the GDPR, we rely on the performance of a contract (art. 6(1)(b)) and legitimate interests (art. 6(1)(f)), and strictly necessary storage falls under the ePrivacy exception that does not require consent.

If this ever changes. If we ever want to use optional cookies — for example, product analytics that leave your device — we will ask for your consent first where required, describe them here, and update our Privacy Policy before they go live.

6. Managing Cookies and Storage

You can control cookies through your browser settings (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, and other browsers all let you block or delete cookies and clear site data). Signing out of your account removes the session cookies. Keep in mind:

  • blocking strictly necessary cookies breaks sign-in and parts of the service;
  • clearing site data also deletes your unsaved card drafts stored on your device;
  • unpublishing or deleting your cards removes them from the service regardless of browser storage.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as Kogni Player Cards changes. When we do, we will update the date above. If a change adds optional cookies that require consent, we will ask you first.
